“I had Isthmus replace my roof and gutters from hail damage. They did a great job. My insurance company had sent out an adjuster to check the damage. Then the insurance company sent me a claim for about $6000.00. They said they would pay for the replacement of the one side of the roof but that the other side only needed 18.5 shingles. I had three roofers check the roof and they all said the whole roof needed to be replaced.
Nate from Isthmus said he would contact my insurance company and get them straightened out. After he and I made repeated calls and sent a lot of emails to the company Nate finally got them to send out another adjuster to have a second look at the roof. Nate met the adjuster and they both went up on the roof to see what was what. I then got another claim form from my insurance company now saying they would pay for the entire roof which was over $16000.00 dollars. Then after it was all done and Nate came over to pick up what I owed for the deductible and a little extra work I had him do so I gave him that check. Then he wanted to look over what the insurance company had paid me. I showed him the copies of the checks I had received from the insurance company. He looked over the claim and he made some calculations and said well Dave they still shorted you $761.32. He then sent another email to the insurance company and they said no they had figured correctly and did not owe me another $761.32. Nate then sent another email to them restating that they had miscalculated and that they still did owe me the $761.32. The next day I got an email from the insurance company apologizing for the mistake and saying the check for the $761.32 was being issued to me. The bottom line is that the insurance companies will try anything they can think of to cheat you. Don’t trust them. If it had not been for all of the extra effort that Nate put into my claim I would have been cheated out of the cost of more than $10,000.00.
